New year, New life, New Projects

Why I decided to put “all-in” in 2025 and start a new life.

For the past years, I’ve been building products for clients, and for myself. Some of them became huge at one moment (Fullwhere.com, Pianity), most of them failed (Reskue). But for each of them I learned (not without any pain) great lessons that could be useful for future founders. That’s why I wanted to start documenting my journey. Also because it’s useful for me to summarise my mind as an outlet to sleep better 😂

So yeah, 2025 is my “all-in” year. Thanks to my last company, I’ve been able to make some cash, and can afford almost one year of building before the need to going back to a 9 to 5 job.

Why I want to build 12 products in 12 months

My goal is to build 12 product in 12 month, as previous famous builders did, like Marc Lou, Jon Yongfook, or Pieter Levels. Why? Because our greatest challenge is often finishing what we start. Our mind becomes our own worst enemy—we self-sabotage, chase shiny distractions, lose interest, overcomplicate things, and procrastinate. It’s difficult to complete a project when there’s always the temptation to add more, refine further, or explain better.

Deadlines force clarity. When time is limited, decisions must be made, and minor details are naturally deprioritized. Compromises become necessary, and as a result, the project moves forward and gets shipped. A time constraint isn’t just practical—it’s a powerful creative constraint, especially for solo, indie, or freelance makers without external accountability. Setting deadlines for ourselves might feel unnatural, but they’re what bring projects to life.

So yes, deadline is a powerful and creative tool, and you should use it.

Why build in public?!

Build in public is actually the best marketing tool when you’re a lazy builder not ultra skilled in marketing tactics. Building in public means also building a public audience, which increases the chances of your product becoming viral. Finally, it’s a motivational booster, as people starts following you, encouraging you and giving you feedbacks on your released products.

I’m mostly active on Linkedin, X, and Blueksy. I will document my daily-life journey on X, so feel free to connect here!

What’s next?

I'll share as many useful feedbacks as I can in this newsletter, from what I learn, what is working or not. I’ll provide a newsletter very week or every 2 weeks.

I’m about to release my first 2025 product, which is a tool to help founders validate their product ideas. So yes, this tool will also be useful for me, helping me to validate the future product I’ll launch 😂 . As I like to say:

If your product solves your problem,

you’ve already got one user.

It’s also a good stress test for me, to accomplish the full founder steps in a limited time, that is in a nutshell :

  • Find a problem that is hair on fire

  • Confirm the market is big enough

  • Solve it by defining a simple solution

  • Validate it with the target

  • Build and ship it fast

  • Launch and market it

The product is called FounderOdyssey, and I’m about to “launch it” next Tuesday, so let’s see how it goes 🤠

That’s it for today, thanks for reading and let’s keep building until we reach the moon! 🧑‍🚀

Cheers,
Eric
